Prof. Marco Santochi is full professor of Manufacturing engineering at the Dept. of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the University of Pisa (Italy). Head of the department of Production Engineering of the University of Pisa since 1997 to 1998, he has been head of the department of Mechanical, Nuclear and Production Engineering since 2006 to 2010. His research activity covers various areas like sensors for cutting process monitoring, adaptive controls for machine tools, Computer Aided Process and assembly/disassembly Planning, robotized precision assembly, disassembly of end of life consumer products, microgeometry and integrity of machined surfaces, microassembly. His current focus is on human aspects of manufacturing processes. He is Fellow of the International society for nanomanufacturing and Fellow of CIRP. President of CIRP 2012-2013.
